mohawk + little boy = WAY cool!

Raychel contacted me a few weeks back to schedule some family portraits. She indicated that she didn't want any stiff poses and just wanted natural, unconventional family images. Well, when the crew showed up and little Ike was sporting a mohawk, I knew I was in for a real treat! I (heart) this family! They were so fun and casual and we just had a great time in the studio. It was wonderful meeting you and I'll be in touch with your gallery information soon!

at long last!

I've been waiting for little Carter's arrival for so long! His mom is my cousin's wife and I've been thrilled since the moment I first figured out she was expecting (mysteriously 'skipping' our volleyball league several weeks in a row! Hmmmm....I wonder why???). Carter came with mom and dad into the studio last week and after lots of lullabies and rocking - he finally fell asleep for some beautiful portraits. Jean - I hope you enjoy this little peek, I'll have the rest of your gallery done in no time.

gymboree loves averie

Averie is one stylin' two year old! I had the pleasure of shooting her 18 month pics and now her 2 year old ones. Let me tell you - she has FANTASTIC clothing. As the mother of 2 little girlies myself, I am totally checking out Averie's clothes to get ideas. I asked her mom, Elana, about the stellar threads and (as suspected) she noted that the girl was dressed head to toe in Gymboree. She has the hats, the shirts, pants, sweaters, socks, ribbons, bows - you name it! And her mom has the inside scoop on all of it! She tipped me off to this great website: http://www.gymbofriends.com/ It's basically a stomping grounds for all the mothers out there who (like Elana...like me) just can't say no to Gymboree. Pretty cool, huh?
Anyway - look below to see some great pics of the little style maven herself. Enjoy the peek Elana - I'll be in touch with your gallery information soon!

another great family

I had the pleasure of photographing Melissa and her crew this past weekend. I first met Melissa when she was a bridesmaid in one of my summer weddings and her little Maggie made the most adorable flower girl! It was so nice to meet the rest of the family - what a good lookin' group, right? Thanks for letting me capture some beautiful memories of your family - I'll be in touch soon with the rest of your gallery!

Baby Colin

How cute is this little guy!?!?! I just want to squeeze him! One of my very best friends, Jen and her hubby Andy, were up to visit this past weekend. Jen and I lived together during and after college. In fact, she was the one who first introduced me to my husband. Of course, while they were here, we got some studio time in for Colin's 6 month pictures (yes, this big boy is just six months old!). Looking at these pictures, I can't help but smile. I'm just in love with this beautiful family and I was anticipating little Colin's addition to the family for (what I interpret as) FOREVER. I believe I did some cartwheels the day that Jen told me she was expecting! Thanks guys for the great visit - I hope you enjoy this little peek, I'll have the rest done in no time.

busy bee!

Wowza - Capturing Moments has been hopping lately! I'm having so much fun with all the shoots and meeting so many great families, couples, babies, and more! Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm trying to hard to stay on top of e-mails, though I know there is more delay than usual. Bare with me - you will be hearing from me soon!

Thanks for being the best clients a girl could ask for...

i could have shot FOREVER

I met up with Sheila and Jordan last friday for their engagement shoot (wedding is all booked for next year!) and - honest to goodness - I didn't want the session to EVER end! Not only are they so fun to be around, but they're totally in love, totally willing to try any of my crazy ideas, and let's face it...they're pretty easy on the eyes too! We had a blast! I know I've succeeded in making a couple feel comfortable when even the groom to be tells me, "that wasn't so bad!" :)

I hope you guys enjoy this little glimpse of your shots. I'm nearly done with your gallery and will be in touch soon with password and viewing instructions. Thanks again for asking me to capture your wedding for you. These pictures just make me so excited for the big day!

and even more boys!

I've just been having the best time with 'the boys' lately! Ann brought in her family-o-boys last week to get an updated family portrait and man did we have a great session. I know Ann from all the fun "Mommy and Me" classes that I take my daughters too so it was so neat to see her outside of that element. We were trying to get her youngest son to make a serious face for one shot. I kept telling him to try to look mad but he just couldn't get it. Well, knowing that he's obsessed with Case IH tractors Ann told him, "hey do you know what Tammy's husband's job is? He sells John Deere!" Well wouldn't you know it, that serious/angry look came real easy then! It was just too funny. You can just tell that their home is filled with laughter and love. Ann - I hope you enjoy the quick peak...I'll be in touch about the rest of your gallery real soon!

nicole

Nicole squeezed a last minute senior session in last week and I'm so very glad she did! Nicole is such a sweet spirit and I totally enjoyed shooting her and that BEAUTIFUL hair of hers. We started out with a walk through St. Mary's University's campus (always a fave for shooting) and ended up back at the studio for some indoor pics. I'm nearly done with the rest and we'll get your online gallery to you ASAP. Thanks, Nicole!
