Baby Claire

Just before heading out on my trip I was able to photograph the sweetest little baby. Little Claire's parents were actually some of my very first clients when I opened up shop in 2007! Their family has recently grown with the addition of Claire and they couldn't feel more blessed. Though the little peanut fought to stay awake, we finally got her snoozing for some beautiful newborn pics. We squeezed some family shots in too (doesn't mom look FANTASTIC for having a week old???). God bless your whole crew!

mr. anthony

Little Anthony was in my studio (again - pre California...I'll get caught up soon!) awhile back and he brought along his mom and his VERY loving and doting big sisters. Man, oh man - this little boy is soooooo loved! It was adorable how he responded to all 3 of them, flashing big smiles and hamming it up. What fun!

Anthony's mom asked me to create a collage of "the many faces of Anthony"...you can check it out and the bottom of this post. I loved her idea of combining these pics and she chose my new favorite size of print (10x20 - and don't worry you CAN find frames rather easily). Always remember that collages are a great way to showcase a series of photos that share a common theme...ask about one at your next session!

Thanks for coming in guys!

california dreaming....

So, yes, once again...I've been a bad blogger. However, this time I have a good excuse. I've been on vacation! I was able to get away for a week in California (to visit an old friend) with my two little girls. Even through long plane rides, jet lag, and all the fuss that goes with traveling - we had a smashing good time!

Read on below to catch up with some of the clients that I was able to shoot before leaving for vacation (there's still more to come...I WILL catch up someday!).

Good to be back...good to be home.

the best darn session

This is Luke. Luke was, hands down, the easiest session ever. I came back home from his session and Kurt asked, "how did it go?" To which I could only respond, "perfect...simply perfect".

For starters...he smiled the entire time! Big, gummy, happy-baby smiles. He was just so happy! He stole my heart in an instant. Going further, he was content in any pose and let me shoot away over and over again. LOVE him!

If only I could get my own kiddos to be this way! :) Hey, I can dream can't I?

little lily

Lily's session proved two things to me: 1) it's a small, small world. 2) i'm getting old!

You see, when Lily and her mom walked in - I instantly felt as though I knew them from somewhere. After beating around the bush and asking some casual questions (So....are you from Winona? Have you lived here all your life?) Lily's mom flipped the light on for me. She very lightly offered, "oh yeah - you used to babysit for me."

Oh my goodness! THAT's where I recognized her from! And furthermore...when did she grow up (making me quite grown up!)? How can it be that the little chickie I used to babysit for is now a momma herself (does that make me a Grand-Babysitter?)? Golly, I'm old! I digress...

Anyway, steal my heart...this little Lily was a doll! We had so much fun and Lily's mom totally gets my style. We had a blast taking some beautiful portraits. I was thrilled to be able to share them with her!

silly billy

Meet little Billy; this guy was so darn cute I could hardly stand it! I was able to squeeze him on an early morning session (before leaving town) and I'm so glad I got the chance to photograph him. He's such a sweet boy! When he finally gave in to some much needed sleep...we got some absolutely beautiful pics. Thanks so much for coming in guys!

awaiting baby annie

A few weeks back I got to meet Kristy, a hip mom who's just dying to meet her baby girl. She als brought along her hubby and ADORABLE little boy. This growing family was a hoot and we had such a great time shooting away. I can't wait for little Annie to make her grand debut so I can meet her!
